Transport and Logistics

CVI provides financing to companies in the transport and logistics sector – road hauliers, contract logistics and warehousing operators, freight forwarders, and specialist operators such as air cargo ground handling providers. We analyse the capital-intensive nature of the industry and the importance of stable contracts and long-term client relationships.

Central Europe serves as the continent’s logistics hub – situated at the crossroads of the main transport corridors linking the west with the east and the north with the south of Europe. The region’s position is strengthened by nearshoring and the relocation of production closer to end markets, the dynamic growth of e-commerce, and the expansion of road, rail, air and warehousing infrastructure. The region boasts one of the largest road transport fleets in the European Union and a steadily growing stock of modern warehouse space. At the same time, the sector is highly capital-intensive – requiring investment in fleets, terminals, warehouses and automation – and the fragmented market is consolidating, generating demand for financing of acquisitions and buyouts, often going beyond standard banking offerings.

CVI financing can be used for capital expenditure, working capital, mergers and acquisitions, debt refinancing, recapitalisation or the buy-out of shareholders – as well as any combination of these purposes. The typical value of a single transaction ranges from EUR 3 million to 30 million.
