Rafał Lis at 20th Fund Forum
During the 20th edition of the Fund Forum in Nałęczów, Rafał Lis, Managing Partner at CVI, took part in a panel discussion titled “The Innovation Delta of the Polish Capital Market”.
The discussion focused on whether the Polish market has a sufficient supply of long-term capital to finance innovation and business growth, as well as on how savings can be channelled more effectively into private markets.
Rafał Lis highlighted the growing role of private debt as a source of financing for Polish companies and as an asset class well suited to the needs of investors with a long-term investment horizon. He also pointed to the potential of Employee Capital Plans (PPK) and open pension funds (OFE), whose exposure to private debt funds could increase significantly in the coming years. However, wider adoption of such investments will require appropriate legislative and regulatory changes.
The long-term nature of retirement savings makes them particularly well suited to private market investments. This is why promoting long-term savings is so important, especially through existing vehicles such as Individual Retirement Accounts (IKE), Individual Retirement Security Accounts (IKZE), open pension funds (OFE) and Employee Capital Plans (PPK), as well as the newly introduced Personal Investment Accounts (OKI).
The discussion was moderated by Anna Ślotała of OTB Ventures. Other panellists included Professor Dariusz Adamski, Michał Ferenc, Michał Kobza and Andrzej Sołdek.
Congratulations to the Chamber of Fund and Asset Management on the excellent organisation of the event and on delivering a programme featuring insightful discussions and presentations.
