Nowel Bakery: Hot profit from frozen bread
Our collaboration with Nowel Bakery (Piekarnia Nowel) is an excellent example of how a fund can finance the growth of a family business, supporting its ambitions and goals while maintaining the owners’ independence.
The business relationship began during Nowel’s first major investment program in 2015-2016. By providing additional funding, we enabled the completion of the program, strengthened the company’s working capital, and supported the execution of its strategy.
“We believed in the vision of dynamic growth through the execution of an ambitious investment plan. In hindsight, it was a very good decision—Nowel achieved significantly better results than the forecasts at the time,” says Paweł Jacel, CFA, Partner at CVI and co-manager of the Noble Fund Mezzanine, the fund that invested in Nowel.
We are proud that today Nowel is one of the leading producers in the frozen bread market in Poland. It is well-positioned to become the market leader within the next few years. Since our investment seven years ago, the company has significantly expanded its production capacity. We continue to collaborate with the owners as a partner, helping the company grow while keeping the business in family hands.
